Amazon Business orders

Amazon Business orders

Amazon is the world’s best-known online marketplace, reaching millions of customers worldwide. Amazon has a separate platform, Amazon Business, exclusively for registered businesses and business-specific goods.

Amazon Business orders are captured by Cin7 Core's integration with Amazon in the same way as regular orders from your Amazon store and then processed in Core in the same way as a regular order. Invoicing, picking, shipping, etc can all be carried out in Core for Amazon Business orders. No additional connection licenses are required in Core.

Prerequisites

Amazon Business PO numbers

Amazon Business PO numbers can be custom for each business and provide details relating to cost center, category, location, etc. and be used in Amazon Business Analytics reports.

When Amazon Business orders are downloaded, the PO number will download if it was provided during checkout. Cin7 Core displays the PO number in the following fields of the sale:

  • Reference: Stores the Amazon Business order number and PO number.

  • Shipping notes: Stores the shipping notes and PO number.

PO numbers on shipping labels

All Amazon Business orders must have the PO reference printed on shipping labels. Some shipping integrations support displaying the PO reference on third-party shipping labels (Fedex, USPS, and UPS).

  • Shippit, StarShipIT, Shiptheory
The PO reference is exported from Core when confirming shipping instructions on the pack tab of the sale. The shipping label generated in Core automatically includes the PO reference. You are not required to take any action from your shipping platform account.

  • ShipStation
The order must be exported from Cin7 Core to ShipStation, and the shipping label printed from ShipStation. This is due to an API limitation on the ShipStation side. ShipStation will display the PO reference in the following fields:

    • Custom field 1: Amazon Business order number and PO reference are stored here. This will be printed on the shipping label printed from ShipStation.

    • Internal note: Shipping notes and PO reference are stored here.

Shiprush and Easypost don't support PO references on third-party shipping labels.

Amazon Business Shipping

When Amazon Business orders download the Latest Ship By Date is stored in the Required by and Ship by fields in Cin7 Core.

Business hour delivery rate (BHDR)

For Cin7 Core US customers, Amazon Business has partnered with a range of carriers (Fedex, UPS, and USPS) to ensure customers receive their orders. These carriers try to deliver the order on their first attempt and within business hours.

Amazon Business tracks how many orders you successfully delivered within business hours (and on the first attempt) in a 30-day period. This becomes your Business Hour Delivery Rate (BHDR).

To avoid impacting your Amazon BHDR, Cin7 Core will warn:

  • If your expected delivery date occurs on a Saturday or Sunday.

  • If you don't select an Amazon Business carrier and they deliver on a weekend.

  • If the Ship date is after the Latest Ship By Date from Amazon.

  • If the selected shipping service is a residential service.

The expected delivery date is the Ship date + Carrier & Service delivery window. You can find the Ship date in the Shipping Instructions tab in the Cin7 Core sales order.
