Pick items for a sale
Pick stock from your inventory to fulfill your authorized sales, or automate this step to mark it as completed as soon as the sale is authorized. Picking allocates stock if it has not already been allocated, stopping any items from being used in a different order. Once an order is picked, you can move on to packing and shipping. As a pick list is solely a set of instructions to the warehouse that may or may not be completed, no stock movements are recorded in Core until the order is packed and shipped.
Use Cin7 Core Warehouse Management Solution (WMS) for fast picking and packing from any mobile device.
This article is not applicable to dropshipped items. See Dropshipping for more information.
Prerequisites
Sale order must be authorized.
Picking is manual in your sales process customization settings. If picking is automatic, the order will be auto-picked and authorized automatically when the sale order is authorized.
Picking stock
Select items from your inventory to fulfill the sale order.
Select the Pick tab of an authorized sale order.
Enter the pick lines. Copy lines from the sale order with +Auto Pick, or add the items manually or via scanning the item barcode. Core will pick items according to their costing method.
Authorize the pick list or save it as a draft to come back later.
Pick a different item, serial number, or batch number
Auto-pick actions choose stock in line with FIFO/FEFO costing methods, excluding expired stock. If Core auto-picks a batch numbered FEFO product, you will not be able to change the batch of the item. Special costing methods (Special - Batch and Special - Serial number) let you select the batch or serial number you want when picking.
Cin7 Core web portal and WMS application allows pickers to scan and select any batch/serial number while picking stock for sale order fulfillment. See Recommend and enforce picking in FIFO/FEFO order for more information about stock picking settings.
Change pick location
Auto-pick will by default pick stock in the sale location. If there is not enough stock to fulfill the order, Cin7 Core will check other locations still taking into consideration the costing method assigned to products.
Change the pick location manually by clicking the location to view availability in other organization locations. Picking from all locations must be enabled in your sale process customization General Settings for this.
Assign a picker
This feature applies to Cin7 Core WMS users. During a sale, you can leave the sale open to be picked by any warehouse staff, or assign one or more specific pickers to a sale. See Configure single picker or multiple pickers per sale for more information.
Partially pick an order
Convert the sale to an advanced sale to create multiple invoices or multiple fulfillments for the same sale. See Advanced sale for more information.
Print or email a pick list
Send a pick list or save it as a PDF by selecting Print → Pick List or Email → Pick List. Any generated PDFs will be stored in the Attachments section of the sale. Use the Expanded pick list to pick components for items with a bill of materials.
See Manage document and email templates for how to customize your document and email templates.
