Sync products with Xero

Products in Cin7 Core are linked to items in Xero. Products are always exported to Xero, but optionally downloaded from Xero to Cin7 Core.

Cin7 Core does not support Xero inventory tracking. Turn off inventory tracking in Xero.

Prerequisites

Export from Cin7 Core to Xero

All products created or updated in Cin7 Core export to Xero on your next sync. Product information always exports with an associated sale invoice or purchase invoice.

Products created before connection with Xero can be exported with export historical data.

Export field mapping

Cin7 Core exports a limited number of product fields to Xero to create items.

Download items from Xero

Items downloaded from Xero are created as products in Cin7 Core. Load items from Xero must be enabled in your Xero settings.

Xero does not provide enough product information for a valid Cin7 Core product record. New products have status Setup required and can't be bought or sold.

  1. Open Xero navigation from your toolbar anywhere in Cin7 Core

  2. Click Sync now to download new and updated products since your last sync or since Load items from Xero was enabled.

  3. Select Inventory from the main menu, then Products.

  4. Open products with status Setup required to enter missing mandatory fields.

  5. Change product status to Active.

  6. Save your changes.

Download products from Xero created before load items from Xero was enabled for your account with Download historical transactions.

Delete or deprecate a product

Archiving a product in Xero does not deprecate nor delete the product from Cin7 Core. You must manually deprecate and delete the product in Cin7 Core after archiving in Xero.

Products from Xero not syncing to Cin7 Core

Products created in Xero not syncing to Cin7 Core. There are several possible causes for this error.

Load items from Xero not enabled

This setting must be enabled for products in Xero to sync to Cin7 Core.
     

Item created or updated before last sync

Items only download from Xero if they have been created or updated since the last time Xero and Cin7 Core were synchronized. Use download historical transactions to download products created or updated before this point.
