ForesightAI product settings
Every insight, forecast, and suggestion ForesightAI makes is driven by product information. Getting that information right is the most powerful way to improve your results.
The ForesightAI product settings give you granular control over each product at each location — lead times, order periods, expiry dates, and more. You can refine settings individually or make bulk changes.
Settings configured elsewhere, such as supplier and location settings, are automatically reflected here.
It can take up to 24 hours for changes to the product settings to impact your forecasts, reports, and smart reorder suggestions.
Before you start
Cin7 ForesightAI included in your subscription.
ForesightAI requires at least 6 months of sales history in Cin7 Core.
Open product settings
In Cin7 Core, go to Settings > ForesightAI settings.
Open Products.
The product settings table lists every product SKU at every location. Each row is a unique SKU-location combination — a SKU with multiple locations appears once per location.
To edit a setting, enter values directly in the table. Changes save automatically.
Filters and columns
Use the default filters to focus on the products you want to review:
SKUs or BOMs — View all products or only products assembled from bills of materials (BOMs)
Default or modified — View all products or products with or without refinements
Or open Filters to create, apply, and manage custom filters:
Click New filter to create filters. Add parameters and save
Select a filter from to apply it
Edit or delete the filter
Open the column configuration to add and remove product attributes from the settings table.
Product settings
ForesightAI
ForesightAI controls whether a product is included in ForesightAI at all. Set to Inactive to exclude a product from all ForesightAI calculations.
Replenished by
Replenished by determines how this product is restocked — from a supplier order or via transfer from another location. This setting is mandatory.
MOQ and packing
Minimum order quantity (MOQ) is the smallest number of units you can order from your supplier per order. If a replenishment suggestion falls below the MOQ, ForesightAI increases it to meet the minimum.
Packing qty sets the order increment — for example, 6 per case or 24 per carton. ForesightAI rounds reorder quantities up to the nearest packing increment. Order quantities must be divisible by this number.
If a SKU has both MOQ and packing values, ForesightAI first meets the MOQ, then rounds up to the nearest packing multiple above it. For example, with an MOQ of 10 and packing size of 6 units per case, a recommendation of 14 will round up to 18.
Available for order
Available for order controls whether ForesightAI generates replenishment suggestions for products. Set to No to stop replenishment. Products set to No will eventually be forecast at zero sales once stock runs out.
Minimum inventory
Minimum inventory sets the maximum stock level ForesightAI will suggest holding for this product. Reorder suggestions will not exceed this quantity.
Maximum inventory
Maximum inventory sets the maximum stock level ForesightAI will suggest holding for this product . Reorder suggestions will not exceed this quantity.
Maximum days for stock
Maximum days for stock caps how many days of demand coverage ForesightAI will suggest ordering for. This limits over-ordering for slow-moving products or where storage space is constrained.
Reorder period
Reorder period is how long each order is intended to last — from delivery of one purchase order to expected delivery of the next.
A longer period means larger, less frequent orders. A shorter period means smaller, more frequent orders. The wrong period leads to orders that are consistently too large or too small.
Shorter periods generally reduce the inventory you hold, freeing up working capital and warehouse space.
Reorder period is often driven by transportation costs: sourcing overseas typically requires quarterly or monthly orders, while local suppliers may allow weekly ordering.
Lead time
Lead time is the time between placing an order with a supplier and receiving it at your location. ForesightAI uses lead time to determine when to place orders to avoid stockouts.
Lead time determines when ForesightAI recommends placing orders. For example, with a 10-day lead time and a projected stockout in 12 days, the system recommends ordering today. An incorrect setting leads to ordering too early — building excess inventory — or too late, causing stockouts.
Longer lead times require ordering further in advance, increasing the risk that demand shifts before the order arrives and items become deadstock — stock you no longer expect to sell without heavy discounting or repurposing.
Lead time variability directly affects safety stock. ForesightAI accounts for potential delays to ensure you have enough buffer inventory to cover late deliveries.
Predecessor
Predecessor links a new product with no sales history to an existing product. ForesightAI uses the predecessor's sales history to generate reliable forecasts for the new product from day one. For example, link a seasonal item like a Summer 2026 T-shirt to a Summer 2027 T-shirt to leverage its sales history.

Smart Reorder suggestions controls how ForesightAI includes this product in Smart Reorder suggestions.
Import and export product settings
To update product settings in bulk:
Select Export to download the template.
Update the template with your changes.
Select Import and upload the updated file.
