Switching Accounting Integrations

Cin7 Core allows integration with QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Xero accounting systems, or you can use Cin7 Core as a standalone tool for your accounting needs. You may switch between QuickBooks Online, Xero and Cin7 Core standalone at any time if you wish to change your accounting system.

Note: Correct mapping of accounts and tax rules is needed to avoid any issues that may arise when switching between these three systems. For more information on account mapping between Cin7 Core and Xero, see Connecting Cin7 Core and Xero. Switching from Xero to QuickBooks Online and vice versa

If you are already using QuickBooks Online or Xero with Cin7 Core, and you wish to change to the other accounting system, you can do so by following the steps below. The steps are very similar to connecting to Xero or QuickBooks Online for the first time.

To switch Cin7 Core from QuickBooks Online to Xero:

  1. On the Cin7 Core menu, click Integration → Xero.

  2. On the Xero integration page, click Connect to disable QuickBooks integration and enable Xero integration with Cin7 Core using the Xero Connect Wizard.

 

To switch from Xero to QuickBooks Online:

  1. On the Cin7 Core menu, click Integration → QuickBooks Online.

  2. On the QuickBooks Online integration page, click Connect to disable Xero integration and enable Xero integration with Cin7 Core using the QuickBooks Connect Wizard.

Switching from one Xero/QuickBooks account to another

You can switch from one Xero account to another (or one QuickBooks account to another) from Integrations → Xero (or Integrations → QuickBooks Online.

Scroll down to Connect your Cin7 Core account to another Xero/QuickBooks organisation and click Change Organisation. You will be taken through either the Xero Connect Wizard or QuickBooks Connect Wizard to complete the change.

  

Switching from Xero/QuickBooks to Cin7 Core standalone

If you have previously integrated either QuickBooks or Xero with Cin7 Core, and you wish to use just Cin7 Core for your accounting needs, you can disable the Xero/QuickBooks integration.

To disable Xero/QuickBooks integration:

  1. On the Cin7 Core menu, click either Integration → QuickBooks (if you have QuickBooks integrated with Cin7 Core) or Integration →Xero (if you have Xero integrated with Cin7 Core).

  2. On the integration page, click Disable Integration.

 

Once you disconnect the integration between Cin7 Core and a third-party accounting system, you can start using Cin7 Core as your standalone accounting software.
