Sale Orders - Automatic Scheduling (Feature Request)

Chris

Hi Guys,

Manually scheduling orders

  • Currently, we need to go to Sale Orders → Fulfillment, select the orders, click picking, and then click schedule for picking.
  • It is time consuming and interrupts workflow, as we are constantly having to do this step multiple times a day, which delays our warehouse team
  • It would simply be easier, where all orders that import (say from Shopify) can be “auto-scheduled” (as invoice/payment is already completed)

The problem with WMS setting of “Sale order picking scheduled” to ALL

  • Now, you will probably think we can just go into the WMS setting, and set “Sale order picking scheduled” to ALL
  • The problem is all orders will be shown on the WMS and we cannot ‘de-schedule’ orders.
  • For example, a customer may order today, but instruct us to not ship their order until 4 days later. Or perhaps there is an issue with the address, and we need to contact the customer to reply/confirm.
  • This is why we cannot use the current WMS setting to “All”

Suggested Solution

  • If Cin7 could simply implement “auto" ‘schedule for picking’ orders on the website itself (in Sales > Fulfillment), then this would solve the issue.
  • You could then expanded the functionality later on for ‘auto schedule’. For example, you could later add a time delay setting for the auto-schedule to occur, or perhaps create some rules where you can map the ‘set picker’, or schedule orders that are vip customers first etc

    Sounds logical and well thought-out.

We were also looking for something similar, but very simplistic, more focused on setting or modifying the Sales Order ‘order required by’ date on orders as they are created based on daily operations order cutoff times. eg Order after 10am ‘order required by’ date set +1 day. Unfortunately, the workflows come up a bit short on the conditions and actions available.

Yeah, being able to adjust the ‘required by’ date by +x days would be good too (we currently dont use it / ignore it for the reasons you've mentioned).

I'd also suggest if going down that path (required date + day/s), then there should be somewhere to input your operating / working days (Mon-Fri etc), so the ‘required by’ date skips weekends… otherwise it may show its due on a Sunday when no one is working.

Yes if there was a option for scheduled to pick in automation so we can set certain rules for example customer reference or time pre cut of schedule to pick and after cut of delay 5 hours. Automations are very limited. No option to print labels containing batch numbers from scanners either.

100% agree, there needs to be an automation on this where you can set a rules relevant to your own business needs for example our order cut off is 2pm so all orders received before 2pm schedule to pick with dispatch date within 1 day for example. Or orders that have been invoiced and received before 2pm.
