Product Family Bulk Editing
As Product Families in Cin7 Core directly inform product variants in Shopify, it would be incredibly helpful to be able to edit more than just Family names and variant values in the exported Products CSV File.
We have a massive inventory with hundreds of families, the issue is that we can't edit descriptions for those families in bulk anywhere. To update Product Family descriptions, I currently have to go into each family individually and update/edit the description. This means doing this manually hundreds of times. As Product Family descriptions over-write the Products description, the ability to do this in bulk would be amazing.
I can add/edit/change and add HTML to my Product descriptions in the CSV. If that is possible, is it possible to have a similar column for the Product Family description? Is there any way that an extra column could be added that Cin7 would recognise and map to the Product Family description?
Product Families are such an essential part of the inventory mapping to ecommerce - it would be much more efficient to enable some kind of bulk editing within the CSV export of Products.
I can bulk edit product descriptions in Shopify of course, but the moment any of the variants of that product is updated via Cin7 Core, all formatting is lost (which is another issue).
I really hope this can be considered as we are desperate for a work-around.

I agree with this. On the old forum I had a similar request, there needs to be a rethink of the way Products and Families are setup and handled. Uploading images shouldn't be such a long process, nor should updating tags and other descriptions and general product settings.
Cin7 need to look at a bulk editor within the platform; I understand they have CSVs and these are okay for some things but they are still time consuming and clunky. I think they need to take notes from some new and more intuitive systems like Shopify etc.
I agree with this and want to see the Product Family - Product Variant management of change improved.
With many product variants in a family, inevitability some of those variants have different UOM, Tags, Descriptions, Revenue, Stock and COGS accounts, etc.
If a person makes one change to a family then ALL those deliberatly different product variant elements can be overwritten with NO warning and the consequences can be significant in the accounting system if the account codes are different for the variant vs the family. If the UOM changes it also has flow on effects. The issues even roll over the ecommerce integrations.
This design feature is VERY poorly implemented and I request that before overwriting fields it prompts and gives an option to overwrite or not that variants data.
The rework this has caused after trying to find the problem has been enormous.
