Feature Request - Set a specific Bin Location for returned items

Hi Guys,

Could you please consider two options in Cin7 for "Restocked Items" for Bin locations.

  • Option 1 - Restock to the originated BIN location (currently what it is doing)
  • Option 2 - Set a specific Bin location for all returned items.

Currently, option 1 is OK, but there are two issues with it;

1. If that BIN is no longer available / deprecated, I believe the item in Cin7 is returned to the main warehouse location (and bin is blank).

2. Items can move into different bin locations at any time. Maybe the item was picked from Bin A for SO#001, a week later the item has been moved into Bin F, and 4 weeks after that SO#001 is returned. Cin7 automatically captures the return (from Shopify), and the bin location for the return is the same bin location from where it was picked from (a reversal), so in this situation Bin A.

Now electronically the system put it into A, but physically the warehouse team put it into Bin F. See the issue?

If we were able to set a default bin location for all returned items, this issue is entirely avoided. All returns would go into a single bin location. From there, the WMS user will simple go into Receive > Bin Transfer and move it to a bin where the other products are grouped together (or wherever they like to be honest). This then also provides REAL scan data so we know where the item was physically placed and who did the transfer and time etc (unlike currently where the system does it automatically - it does not necessarily mean that's physically where the item was placed)
