Universal Customer and Vendor Notes Section

I am wondering if there is a way to put notes for customer data that is universally accessible for each customer. Right now we can put notes for each Sales order but it does not give the history for each customer. This has created a bit of an issue with understanding past issues or situations with each account.  

Do you have a way to get this information accessible from the sales order screen?

I have attached how quickbook does it.

Would be nice to have a button that would generate date and time as well.
