Adding maintenance records to resources in production

We are trying to make Cin7 Core the source of truth for as much as possible in our business.  I would like to be able to see the latest maintenance records on a particular machine we have listed as a resource in Advanced Manufacturing.  

My idea is to be able to enter a service purchase, for a technicians invoice and tag the resource (machine) that this invoice was for, so that a link to the invoice and maintenance record would automatically populate in the remarks section of the particular resource.

In my business most service invoices are entered in Xero and therefor are not searchable or available for most of my team who operate from Cin7 Core.  By making this change, it will create source of truth in Cin7 Core and save having to duplicate the data that is normally uploaded directly to Xero.
