Deals not working with Custom Pricing Answered
As per your current design, Deals do not work comprehensively.
Any item that has customer-specific custom pricing is not recognised by the Deal for that Customer. That is illogical and surely must be a quick fix?
Our scenario is with one customer that has negotiated Custom Prices for some items, their ordering/invoicing is not picking up the Deal promotion for those items but it is for the non Custom Priced items they also buy. We are manually having to check every order before confirming it to check the Deal has pulled through and if not manually add in the extra discount to the items with Custom Prices.
Please fix this.

Hi everyone,
Custom Price is always treated as the final price for a customer and it overrides all other pricing rules. This is why Deals do not apply to items that already have a Custom Price. The system works this way to keep pricing predictable and avoid unexpected extra discounts.
If you need multiple price scenarios for the same customer, these should be configured through Deals instead of Custom Price. Custom Price is meant for a single fixed negotiated price, not for combining with promotions.
If you have any additional scenarios where you feel the Deals function is limited, feel free to share them.

We just experienced the same bug yesterday.
We had an issue where if you have a rule for 10% off for example and you try to have it apply to a category and specific products it does not work. So we had add more rows to the deal. I think this is what you are describing.
For example.
Create a deal and define the Name, dates. Apply to Customers with "tag" = "Test"
--------
Then under “Discounts”
set the rule (10% off)
apply to a category (select category)
----------
then add another discount
set the rule (10% off) again
apply to a specific product.
Just keep adding Discounts by pressing the green plus on the right.
Hope this helps
Thanks @Tim Arnold but that is not the issue.
We can and do create plenty of Deals, but as it stands Core can not apply a Deal to a Custom Price.
I have been in contact with Core Support and they have confirmed what we are trying to do is not possible as per the current design. In their own words you “can apply a customer-based discount OR customer-specific custom pricing to a product” you can't have both.
They know its an issue, but so far they aren't putting it right!
