Shopify Integration - Auto Update shipping address when it's been changed Planned

Hi Guys,

  • Even with "validate shipping address' in the checkout settings of Shopify, customers can override it.
  • In the orders tab of Shopify, if an address needs to be reviewed, it flags those orders and offers a suggestion in which we can reveiw and change accordingly.
  • Once we have updated the address in Shopify, we then need to go into Cin7, and also update the address manually in Cin7
  • We update the address in CIn7, because our shipping integration (SSI) pulls the order details and shipping address from Cin7

If Shopify creates a trigger/notification for the change of address, then I think a feature request that would help everyone would be for (with an “on/off” toggle option in the Shopify integration settings);

  • Cin7 to auto-update the address in Cin7 based on that trigger event.

    Thank you for your detailed explanation and providing insights into your workflows.  We are currently enhancing our Shopify integration and order editing (including shipping address changes) is certainly one of the key topics we are looking to address.

    Please let me know if you are keen to review this functionality before it becomes available.

    Agreed. We would also be happy to test order edits.

    We understand that order edits are tricky to sync because it depends on what stage the order is at in Cin7.

    We investigated an alterative streamlined inventory & shipping platform recently, and their approach is to flag an order in their system if it is edited in Shopify. Then you can manually approve the update.

    Obviously, if e.g. an already picked order needs to be rolled back in Cin7 so that it can be updated, then someone in the warehouse needs to know!
