Feature Request - Report for Bin Locations

  • Edited

Hi Guys,

Scenario

  • When we are receiving a new Purchase Order, with new SKUs that we've never stocked before, we need to place some of this stock into our ‘pick’ bin locations, with the excess on storage bin locations.
  • Let's say there are 100 new skus which need to be placed into ‘pick bins’

Currently

  • We do not know if we physically have 100 empty ‘pick bin’ locations that are available to accommodate these new skus.
  • We are manually walking through the warehouse, checking each bin.
  • If we find that there is 100 empty pick bin locations, then we know we are OK
  • If there are not 100 empty pick bin locations, then we either merge some existing skus together into a single bin (for example clearance or EOL skus) to free up more pick bin locations, or we create more pick bin locations.

Products Stock Level Report

Before you suggest us to use this, it unfortunately does not offer what we require for two reasons;

  • If we try to untick “Non-Zero Quantities only” it doesn't let us (it is greyed out). It says “As the product and location's count is exceeding the set limit of 200000 only non-zero records are being displayed”
  • So when “Non-Zero Quantities only” is ticked, it doesn't show the empty bin locations, so we would not know what they are. It also doesn't tell us the total empty bin locations, and there's like 50 pages to scroll through, which simply will not work.

Bin Location Report

Could you guys please add a Bin Location report to show the following;

  • Report to display all bin locations, with the total quantity of bin locations
  • Filter option to show bins locations with 0 units of stock, with the total quantity of bin locations
  • Filter option to show bins with 1 or more units of stock, with the total quantity of bin locations
  • Can expand this report in future if you want to know volume available or occupied per bin location. That can work if there's a section to input the bin dimensions (which I believe is currently not available in the bin locations setup page) and obviously the product dimensions need to be inputted (which is available)

At the moment we;

  • Do not know how many bin locations we currently have (We have to export the Bin Locations into a CSV file and count the rows in Excel)
  • Do not know how many bin locations contain 0 units of stock
  • Do not know how many bin locations contain 1 or more units of stock.

This report will really really really help with planning when we are receiving new Purchase Orders.
