Anybody out there?

Hi, We are a small business based in Australia.
We operate in the 4x4 aftermarket industry, importing products and distributing them across Australia and New Zealand. Cin7 has been a critical tool in helping us manage our operations, from inventory to order management, but like many small businesses, we sometimes find ourselves underutilising its full potential. The challenge of staying up-to-date with new features while managing day-to-day operations can be a hurdle, especially with limited resources. Some of the challenges we face day to day within the business and Cin7 are that our products are customisable and transferrable based on surface finish and those sorts of things. Also, whilst our products are not made to order the lead time from ordering from manufacturer to arriving to us can be some months, but we take pre-orders for not yet arrived stock. As such the pain points are:

BOM Flexibility and Substitution:
Our business frequently deals with BOMs for auto-assembled products, where certain components can be substituted (e.g., a black vs. white part or optional add-ons like spray painting). Currently, if the stock of one component isn’t available, it prevents auto assembly, requiring our team to manually adjust the order. A feature allowing BOM editing within the Quote-Order-Pick-Pack-Ship workflow would significantly streamline our processes and ensure stock accuracy.

Forward Order Allocation:
With extended supplier lead times and multiple forward orders, we rely on a manually updated Google Sheet to track incoming stock and avoid over-allocation. Keeping this process within Cin7—perhaps with the ability to allocate specific SKUs on orders to corresponding SKUs on POs—would reduce errors and improve efficiency.

I have/will post thee on the feature requests page, however I am writing this post in the hope there are similar businesses out there that are in a similar boat, with similar products and keen to see what work arounds other businesses may use?
