JobCostings API integration

Ryno Myburgh

Dear Cin7 Core Support Team,

I hope you are doing well.

I am reaching out to request the addition of API endpoints for Job Costing in Cin7 Core. Currently, while your API provides comprehensive access to many key modules such as Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, and Inventory, there is a notable absence of CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations for Job Costing. This limitation makes it difficult for businesses like ours to integrate job cost tracking into our automated workflows.

Why is this important?

  1. Automation & Efficiency: Many businesses rely on automation to streamline their operations. Without API access to Job Costing, we are forced to manually enter and manage costs, leading to inefficiencies and potential data inconsistencies.
  2. Real-Time Cost Management: Integrating job costs with our existing ERP, accounting, and reporting tools via API would provide real-time visibility into project expenses, improving financial decision-making.
  3. Scalability: As businesses grow, so does the need for scalable solutions. Automating job costing through API access would allow us to scale operations without additional manual intervention.
  4. Consistency with Other Modules: Since other key Cin7 Core modules are already accessible via API, adding Job Costing endpoints would maintain consistency and provide a fully integrated experience.

Requested Features for Job Costing API

We would like to see API endpoints that support:

  • GET /jobcosting – Retrieve job cost records
  • POST /jobcosting – Create new job cost entries
  • PUT /jobcosting/{id} – Update existing job cost records
  • DELETE /jobcosting/{id} – Remove job cost entries

If this is already on your roadmap, could you share any timelines or potential workarounds? We believe adding Job Costing API support would greatly enhance Cin7 Core’s functionality and usability for many users.

Thank you for considering this request. Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Ryno Myburgh
Plentify
