Automations and integrations - more options needed than just the default contact
Using a freight platform? Decided to set an automation that also automatically sends an invoice when the shipping is complete?
As of April 2025 you cannot have the notification of the shipping delivery notification and the invoice go to different people in your customers organisation. They have to go to the same person/email. This puts us in the predicament of either having the shipping notification not going to the receiver (resulting in calls) or the invoice not going to the AP department (resulting in calls and late payments).
Why?
Because the customer contacts have a default checkmark and an ‘include in’ option. But ‘include in’ only applies to the function of email from the SO, Pick, Pack, ship and invoice tabs of an order. It doesn't apply to the email used in the data that flows to a freight platform or to the automations notification when selecting customer as the party you want to receive the notification.
Ideally we should have control over both, but if we're going to change one, could we please get the same email functionality in the automation notification > customer as we do in our sales orders.
