Easy way to remove just some backorders on a sales order.

There needs to be an easier way to remove items from backorder / unfulfilled orders.

We have thousands of orders that have some amount of unfulfilled stock. These are mostly advanced orders, some with several fulfilments and already processed and possibly paid invoices from months ago, that we don't want to mess with or break or undo.

Customers regularly want to cancel just some of the items that are on backorder / unfulfilled, but not all of them. The only way to do this now is to undo the entire sales order including all the past invoices and fulfilments, delete the items they requested, then re authorise all the different fulfilments and invoices, and hope that something doesn't break, because it does all the time, where we get red error messages saying we no longer have to stock and we cant reauthorise the fulfilments and invoices. So we end up breaking past fulfilments and invoices, just to be able to cancel some items the customer hasn't even been sent yet from a few months ago! its insane!

You should simply be able to click on the stock yet to be fulfilled in a sales order, this should show you a list of what's unfulfilled, and let you delete the line items as needed or update the quantities, so they are no longer on backorder for that customer, or if they now only wanted 1  instead of 2, you can reduce it to just 1.

There needs to be some way to do this that doesn't involve messing with past invoices and fulfilments to achieve.
