Warehouse Details Report - Time not recorded correctly when picking multiple orders per round
These two problems are related to the Warehouse Details Report and inturn the WMS
Picking a Single Order per round
- When picking a single order at a time on the WMS
- The time is accurately recorded into the Warehouse Details Report
- There are no issues here
Picking Multiple Orders per round [Issue #1]
- When you pick more than 1 order at a time on the WMS
- The time IS NOT RECORDED ACCURATELY into the Warehouse Details Report
- Pretend, we pick 10 orders per round
- Pretend, that we picked those 10 orders per round, in a total time of 10 minutes
- Currently, Cin7 / the WMS is then inputting 10 minutes, for every 10 of those sales orders
- This results in the warehouse report showing a total time for picking of 100 minutes
- When in reality, you spent 10 minutes
- The simple solution is, that the WMS should know the quantity of sales orders you are picking per round, and divide the time being recored by that amount. IE → 10 minutes per round divided by 10 orders → Therefore the WMS system should send / Cin7 record 1 minute for each of those sale orders and the total time at the bottom of the report would show/add up to 10 minutes, which is what occured in real life.
Time formatting Problem [Issue #2]
- In the Warehouse Details Report, you can choose between Seconds, Minutes and Hours.
Example #1
- For example, lets say we set "Show In" to seconds
- A single Sale Order shows time tracked as 108 seconds
- Now we change the “Show In” settings to minutes.
- The system displays it as 1.80m
- It is simply doing 108 seconds / 60 seconds = 1.80 and putting ‘m’ on the end (which actually ends up a meters measurement)
- 1.80m does not mean anything to a user, because its not a time format at all. Its not logical.
- What the report should be showing is in a time format such as 1m48s (not 1.80m)
Example #2
- Likewise, right now I can see the report showing a Sale Order as 1.35m, in which I read this as 1 minute and 35 seconds.
- But if I convert that to seconds, its 81 seconds
- Which means the actually time is 1 minute and 21 seconds (not 1 minute and 35 seconds as the report leads you to believe)
- I sure hope that no one else has been mislead by the formatting, it should be displayed in a time format such as 1m48s
Summary
- I hope enough people vote to get both issues addressed / fixed
- Fathoms me to why its even a ‘feature’ request, there should be a clear distinguish between what is considered a ‘feature request’ and what is concidered a ‘programming problem’
- I sincerely hope someone at Cin7 reads this and implements the fixes required, for everyones benefit.
