Auto-Order an Assembly rather than Auto-Complete an Assembly
When a customer orders an auto-assemble product, the Assembly is created and completed automatically. It would be great to auto-order the assembly so the warehouse team can later manually complete it. Similar to the workflow for creating a Purchase for out-of-stock items.
At the moment, if the next expiring batch is in three bins, on top of each other: The auto assembly often auto-picks from the high bin. Where the warehouse team would of course pick from the bin they can reach until they re-up with the higher stock.

This problem would be solved, if Auto-Pick actually picked from bin locations alpha-numerically (whilst following FIFO-Rules), as I have suggested in a different thread, been on-going issue for us for some time where our stock quantites end up wrong, as per your example.

Yeah that's definitely related. I'll drop your thread a comment and vote. In our case, it would give us a great deal more flexibility to create an assembly order that commits stock immediately, but allows the warehouse the option to pick when and where is most appropriate on the day.
