Ability to convert a drop shipment PO into an Advanced PO

We need the ability to convert a drop shipment PO into an advanced PO. Many suppliers ship as product is available, creating multiple shipments and invoices for one drop shipment PO. According to the help center there is no work around other than voiding and starting over which causes your COGS to become $0.

Without the ability to convert the drop shipment PO feature is useless for many.

100% Agreement - Really causing us a problem.
For example we currently have a $10K US order that has delivered except for about $500 of it that is out to october
We need to bill for the $9500.00 and really do not have a way to do so and keep the accounting right.
Our vendor requires we pay them NOW.
