Automated Shopify & Invoicing Tracking Number Sync - Drop ship orders Planned
Currently, when we process dropship orders from Shopify or fulfill invoices in Cin7 Core, there's no way to automatically send shipping tracking information to our customers. This forces us to manually update Shopify orders and individual invoices with tracking numbers, wasting valuable time and leading to customer frustration due to lack of real-time updates.
We need a feature that allows us to easily add tracking numbers and carrier details in Cin7 Core, and then automatically push this information to Shopify orders and our customer invoices.
This would mean:
- Happier customers receiving automatic shipping updates.
- Significant time savings by eliminating manual tracking entry.
- Fewer "where's my order?" calls to customer service.
- Overall smoother and more professional order fulfillment.
This is a critical missing piece that impacts many Cin7 Core users. Please vote if this would improve your daily operations!

For example, do you have use cases that combine drop ship and non-drop ship orders on the same order?

Indeed, please. This would help our workflow as well.
(For the record, the issue is that a dropship sale does not have the pick/pack/ship steps. But this means there is no way to capture fulfilment information in Cin7 so that it can be forwarded to the sales channel.)

This is a vital piece to remove some of these manual steps and prevent orders from falling through the cracks. It's like the process of core and drop ship is a half way automated process. I understand that DS removes the entire process of pick, pack and ship which is why we have opted to NOT do drop ship at all in core which has definitely not simplified our lives.
Either way it's a lose lose for us.
1. Either we do the process of manually drop shipping and pick, pack ship so the tracking can close out the orders on all platforms
2. We end up having lots of open orders that show completed but haven't shipped yet.
If we didn't have printed paperwork to double check ourselves, a lot more orders would have fallen through the cracks.

Yes, our clients frequently combine drop-ship and non-drop-ship items on the same order, especially on Amazon and eBay.
A key issue we've identified is when a single e-commerce item is dropshipped. The system often prematurely marks it as "shipped," preventing tracking information from being added.
Additionally, a client reported that on Amazon and eBay, if an order contains two products (one dropshipped, one not), only the non-dropshipped item's tracking updates. The dropshipped item's tracking does not. We haven't fully verified this specific scenario across all client orders yet.
This seems to stem from the dropship process bypassing standard pick/pack/ship steps, making capturing and forward fulfillment tracking difficult. As noted by others, this often results in a "halfway automated process" for our clients, leading to significant manual effort.

@Cin7 - we would be able to be involved in any discussions. We have a Shopify, Amazon and eBay storefronts and mix of primarily FBM products, with a couple of dropship suppliers as well. This means we do sometimes have orders with FBM and dropship products on the same order. These are the problematic ones:
When we have a combined Dropship + FBM order, we need to get the dropship fulfilment info back to the channel.
This really should be available. With all of the the other automations that exist in Cin7, I'm surprised it isn't already in there.
