confirmed delivery date per SKU/orderline in a PO
I'm looking for how to find the option to have a confirmed delivery date per SKU/orderline in a PO ? I see comments from a year back also asking for this “ Purchases often arrived in staggered deliveries and it would be extremely helpful to be able to have an overall required by date for a PO and an expected delivery date per SKU in the PO.”
I have worked with several systems and with purchasing and the issue is that in purchasing there is never a guarantee that you can place and order and have all the products confirmed for delivery at the same date.
To manage this it is necessary to be able to have a confirmed delivery date per product/SKU listed, this is also needed for when to run reports to check received PO’s as OTIF (On Time And in Full), as well as a regular performance report on PO’s delivered on-time.
We would also use this for our production/assembly planning, as we can see when the different SKU/products are expected to be delivered.
So if you can only place PO and have only the complete PO confirmed with a delivery date, then this is a big problem (flaw) in your system.

Yep this is a massive oversight and issue.
Yes please I agree this would be very helpful.
We find that we’re regularly having to split PO’s into multiple orders achieve the functionality. This is clunky and slow.
Agree that this is needed
This request may be dated, but this feature needs to be addressed. This is a very big challenge.
Having a PO header “Required by” date driving “Next Delivery” on products, for a vendor that delivers POs over multiple shipments, makes this field irrelevant.
After we issue a PO, we receive a confirmation back from the vendor with delivery dates for each line on the PO - I could void the original PO and enter multiple a PO for each delivery - this would allow me to use the PO “Required by” date - but that would be absolute chaos in so many ways.
Our integration specialist recommended that we create multiple draft Stock Receiving's once we receive the confirmation, with “Date Received” as the delivery dates. It requires a bunch of receipt pre-entry (thank goodness for Import functionality, and I will have to eventually make these receipt entries anyway) but we are using FIFO Batch, so 1) I need to enter “PENDING” as the Batch number for every SKU in order to even save the draft (which means when i get shipment info i will need to edit the draft Stock Receiving to update with the correct batch numbers), and 2) using “Date Received” does not seem to affect the “Next Delivery” on the product, so is not resolving the issue anyway.
When a customer calls asking to an updated delivery it requires a bunch to look ups external to Cin7. I've had more than a few get frustrated by delay while i look the date up. Having enough employees to warrant restrictive user roles would likely mean that more than 1 person (each having different access) would be required to even answer the customer… rather than anyone being able to just hover over the item on the Sales Order to view “Next Delivery”
There is SO much to be excited about with Cin7, but not having SKU-by-SKU delivery date on PO's is a major pain-point. If this were addressed it could potentially be a building block for so much more functionality too!
PLEASE address this and make Cin7 even better than it is!
