Shopify: Automatically Capture Orders When Exclusion Tag Removed

kara

We currently utilize the Cin7 integration with Shopify, and sync orders from Shopify to manage fulfillment in Cin7. Most of our orders are synced automatically to Cin7, but others must be approved before moving into fulfillment, so we leverage the exclusion tag feature to ensure those orders do not get synced to Cin7 until they are approved to do so.

However, when the exclusion tags are removed, these orders do not automatically sync to Cin7 at the next regular sync interval, like the other orders do. Often, the approvals (and subsequent removal of the tag) occur days after the order was created.

In order to pull these orders in, our team must follow all of these steps:

1. Remove exclusion tag from order in Shopify and save.
2. Navigate and log into Cin7.
3. Navigate to the Integration tab and search for Shopify.
4. Open the Shopify integration and select the correct integrated store.
5. Navigate to Pending Orders.
6. Select Load Orders.
7. In the order sync modal, backdate “Orders created since” to a date earlier than the missing order(s) were created.
8. Click Load from Shopify.
9. Click Process. (Unclear to me if this is a necessary step — it's been inconsistent in my testing.)

This is a lot of manual steps to take, which has resulted in repeated gaps in our process. Many of these approved orders end up missing from Cin7, and fulfillments don't occur until customers reach out to our team asking where their order is.

What can we do to ensure orders are pulled in automatically with regular syncs when exclusion tags are removed?

Following this thread. We don't use exclusions at the moment, but we could in future.
