Feedback - Shopify - Automatic Product Downloads Answered
Hi Guys,
Just some feedback regarding the upcoming Automatic Product Downloads for Shopify
- I noted that it auto sync's images / descriptions for listing that are active products in Shopify
- I noted that it does not apply to draft products (which are still manually imported into Cin7)
Knowing the above, we will never ever benefit from the new feature due to our process which is as follows;
- We create new products as draft products inside Shopify. We fill our minimal data such as skus, barcodes, sizes, a single image etc
- We then manually import these draft products into Cin7
- We then create our Purchase Order in Cin7 for those products
- We later on add photos, fill in more detail inside Shopify once said products have been received
I assume other users will be in the same situation if they always create new products in Shopify first, as draft listings then import into Cin7 in order to be able to create a Purchase Order

And a final point regarding syncing of images in the current implementation.
To make sure that the images for each platform are not accidentally altered, if Cin7 Core detects that a product in Core already has one or more images, it will not download any images from Shopify for that product. If you want to download images from Shopify, you need to remove any existing images from the product in Cin7 Core.
- 1. Currently there is no option to force a resync of images from Shopify to Cin7
- 2. There is no option to bulk select SKUs to delete images inside Cin7, in which thereafter we could then manually re-sync from Shopify. Currently we need to go into each individual SKU and delete images which is not time smart/possible, considering the quantitiy of SKUs that are effected.

There appear to be 2 feature requests here:
Feature Request 1: Auto product downloads Shopify feature - also to consider draft products.
>> For this, there are plans on our Shopify roadmap to make this a configuration setting whereby users will have the option to consider changes for Draft and Archived products.
Feature Request 2: Consider product image changes when downloading products from Shopify to Core.
>> Both our manual and automatic product download functionality doesn't currently support this. I would love to see how many others in our Cin7 Core community also face this challenge today.

We birth our SKUs in Cin7 so this doesn't affect us. But we are always open to an alternative workflow that could be more streamlined.
