Feature Request: Automatic Addition of Hidden Products to Orders

We would like to request a feature that allows certain products to be automatically added to a customer’s order when specific items are purchased—without any customer interaction.

Use Case Example:
When a customer purchases a leotard, skirt, or ballerina wrap, we include a free care pack. The care pack is an unlisted product that customers should not be able to view or add themselves, but we still need to track its inventory. Being able to automatically add this item after the order is placed would streamline our workflow and ensure accurate stock tracking.

This functionality would also be useful for several other internal-use items we include in orders but do not actively sell.

Ideal Functionality:

  • Ability to set up a rule or automation flow:
    If Product A/B/C is ordered → Automatically add Hidden Product X to the order.
  • The hidden product should not be visible or selectable by customers.
  • The added item should appear in the order for internal tracking and fulfillment.

This enhancement would greatly improve our operations and inventory management.

    Hi Jasmine,

    I have worked with businesses who add "free gifts" to their orders using a Cin7 Core "free gift" product that has Bill Of Materials (BOM) with that free gift in the BOM.  As they change the free gift, they change to BOM.  Consider using the Auto-Assembly feature to have the gift item automatically consumed and/or when/if doing the Pick Step in Cin7 Core, consider using the "Expanded Pick List-BOM" pick list.

    Hi Stan,

    Thank you for your recommendation. Unfortunately this is still not going to work for us. We do not want the free care pack for every leotard but rather to be added if they have a leotard in their order. So one care pack “free gift” per order if their order contains a leotard.

    I hope that makes sense.
