Prevent or Warn on Future-Dated “Stock Received” Dates in Purchase Orders and Stock Transfers
Creating on behalf of the customer
Customers can currently enter future-dated “Stock Received” dates on purchase orders and stock transfers in Cin7 Core without any warning or restriction. This can lead to data entry errors (for example, incorrect future dates due to typos), which may result in accounting discrepancies, negative stock positions, and inaccurate inventory and financial reports. These issues become especially difficult to correct once the stock has been transferred, consumed in assemblies, or sold.
At present, there is no system setting or validation to prevent or flag future-dated stock receipt entries.
Requested enhancement:
Introduce a system validation to either:
- Prevent users from saving future-dated “Stock Received” entries, or
- Display a clear warning/confirmation alert when a user attempts to enter a stock received date beyond an allowable range.
This enhancement would help reduce accidental data entry errors and improve the accuracy of inventory and accounting records, particularly for customers with complex stock movements and assemblies.
