Feature Request: Vendor Selection at Order Processing for Drop Ship POs

Current Behavior:
When processing an order in Cin7 Core, Drop Ship Purchase Orders are automatically generated upon order authorization using the default drop-ship supplier assigned to each product. If a different supplier is needed for a given line item, the processor must: (1) exit the order, (2) navigate to the product record, (3) change the default drop-ship supplier, (4) return to the order, (5) refresh it, and then (6) authorize. This is a significant workflow disruption, especially for operations with multiple qualified suppliers per SKU.

Requested Enhancement:
Add the ability to select the drop-ship supplier at the order processing stage — either at the line item level before authorization, or as a prompt during the PO generation step — rather than being locked to the product-level default supplier.

Ideal Implementation:
In the order processing screen, for any line item flagged as Drop Ship (Optional or Always), provide a supplier dropdown that is populated with all suppliers assigned to that product in Cin7, along with their associated costs. The processor can then select the desired vendor per line item before authorizing. The auto-generated Drop Ship PO would route to the selected vendor rather than the default.

Business Case:
We operate a hybrid fulfillment model with approximately 35,000 SKUs and roughly 30 drop-ship vendors. Many of our products are commodity items available from multiple qualified suppliers. Our vendor selection at order time is driven by a combination of current pricing, stock availability at the vendor, and relationship management — decisions that cannot always be predetermined at the product setup level.

We have already done the work of assigning all qualified suppliers with current costs to our SKUs in Cin7. The data is there — the workflow just doesn't surface it at the right moment. The current workaround requires navigating away from the order screen entirely, which adds significant friction and time to every order that requires a non-default vendor.

This enhancement would make Cin7 Core substantially more capable for any business running a multi-vendor drop-ship operation — which is an increasingly common fulfillment model in e-commerce.

Thank you for considering this request.
