Sales by Product Report Inaccuracy with Advanced Sales

We’ve identified a reporting limitation in the Sales by Product report when using Advanced Sales, which is impacting the accuracy of monthly sales analysis.
When comparing units sold by month, some quantities are grouped into an additional column rather than being assigned to a specific period. This makes the report unreliable for tracking trends and performance.
Based on discussions with support, this occurs because the system cannot consistently determine the correct invoice date for stock movements within Advanced Sales workflows.
Although a workaround using the Sales Invoices & Credit Notes Report is available, this is not a logical or intuitive place to obtain this data. It also requires significant configuration to extract the required information, and is not a straightforward process. In our case, it involved considerable back and forth with support, including a Zoom session to arrive at a usable outcome. As such, it does not meet the expectations of a standard Sales by Product report.
Given that sales by product by month is a core reporting requirement for most businesses, this limitation significantly reduces the usability of the report.

An enhanced Sales by Product report that:
- Accurately assigns quantities to the correct month
- Works seamlessly with Advanced Sales workflows
- Provides consistent and reliable data for reporting and forecasting
