PO Invoice - Expense items

Fran Fellows

I'd like to raise a feature request regarding the expensing of Purchase Order invoice lines in Cin7 Core.

Current Functionality

When expensing PO invoice lines, the amounts are grouped together by their original expense account. This means that where multiple invoice lines use the same account, there is no visibility of the individual line values or any comments entered against them.

Example Scenario

A freight invoice covers two separate deliveries, with two invoice lines entered against the same expense account:

  • Line 1: Freight charge – Comment: "Delivery 1"
  • Line 2: Freight charge – Comment: "Delivery 2"

When selecting the option to expense these lines, the amounts are consolidated under the original account, with no breakdown showing the individual values or their associated comments.

If the user needs to allocate the freight charges separately to different orders or deliveries, they must open the original invoice in another screen to cross-reference the amounts and comments.

Request -

Would it be possible to update the expense allocation screen to:

  • Display a breakdown of the original invoice lines, rather than grouping all amounts solely by expense account.
  • Show the individual line value and associated comment entered on the original invoice.
  • Allow users to identify and allocate the relevant amounts without needing to refer back to the original invoice.

This would make the expense allocation process more efficient, particularly for businesses receiving consolidated freight or supplier invoices covering multiple deliveries or orders.

It would reduce the need to switch between screens, minimise manual cross-referencing and help prevent errors when allocating costs.
