Cin7 Faire integration - shipping reimbursements, commissions and payment processing fee Featured Planned
Does anyone use Faire with Cin7? The system integration will transmit the tracking number. How do you handle the shipping cost?
Since Faire subsidizes a large part of the shipping cost, this is an important integration component. Since transmitting tracking is a simple cut-and-paste for forms where I am still required to fill out the information to get payment, I think the integration's utility is a net negative since the is a limit to the timeline for editing the shipping that is triggered by the transmission of tracking information.
Does anyone have a better-use model or experience they would be willing to share?

Hi all,
Our Faire integration currently only downloads the Order total and not the
1) Payout total
2) Shipping reimbursement
3) Commission
4) Payment processing fee
This is the Faire calculation for Payout total.
Payout total = (order subtotal) + (shipping reimbursement) - (commission) - (payment processing fee)
Faire's integration is quite different to other Ecommerce/Marketplace integrations and will therefore need to be enhanced to capture this information.
An idea is to capture the Shipment reimbursement, commission, payment processing fee in the additional charges section. The monetary value of these lines will either be + or - to match Faire's calculation.
We use the integration. For the most part it works good enough. Shipping, we just ship through Faire, rather than via Cin7. We don't use Cin7 nearly to it's potential, it's just too hard to get answers as an established customer.
I have the same issue, so when Faire gives me the payout, it is the total of the order minus the commissions, adding back shipping, and merchant fee +10$ for new customer fee. But when it posts on Cin7, it doesn't take any of this into consideration, so do you have to manually go back and post it? We are doing this now but such a pain and sometimes it reverts back to the gross payout rather than the net payout..
I tried linking two platforms for order management and hit a wall because the shipping subsidy wasn’t reflected properly, just like the challenge here. In terms of tracking, it truly felt like playing a round of Slice Master, chopping through manual steps that automation should have solved.
I tried connecting two inventory apps and ended up manually correcting every order despite the promised automation—it was a pure Level Devil of logistics. The delays in syncing tracking info created billing chaos, and I had to redesign my workflow before the integration finally saved more time than it cost.
I get what you mean — the shipping integration feels more like extra friction than an actual improvement. If we still have to manually enter tracking details for payment anyway, the automatic doodle baseball transmission ends up working against us by locking the timeline too early. It kind of defeats the purpose of streamlining the process. I think the integration would be a lot more helpful if it either delayed triggering the edit window or allowed updates after the initial tracking submission.
We’ve run into similar challenges with the Faire → Cin7 workflow, especially around how shipping reimbursements are handled once tracking gets pushed through. The timing issue you mentioned is real—once the tracking is transmitted, editing the shipment details becomes tricky. What helped us was keeping shipping entries manual but using the integration only for order syncing, not the full fulfillment workflow. It’s not perfect, but it avoids mismatches in the reimbursement window.
When I was researching inventory and operations workflows more broadly, I found it useful to look at well-organized analytical resources to understand cost structures and decision models. One example is this list of Economics Dissertation Topics from MyAssignmentHelp, which surprisingly gave me a few ideas on thinking about subsidies, cost allocation, and incentive structures—concepts that apply here too.
Would be interested to hear how others are handling the Faire subsidy side within Cin7.
Cin7 Faire integration streamlines your operations, but understanding shipping reimbursements, commissions, and payment processing fees is key. Don't let these complexities slow you down! It's like mastering a challenging level in Run 3 – precise movements and calculated risks lead to success.
