Stocktake with WMS
Verify quantities and condition of stock in a specific location or warehouse with stocktake. Stocktake locks a location while it is in progress, inventory at this location cannot be used, sold, or moved. Background operations, e.g. loading sales from Shopify, will continue, however orders will remain in pending status so as not to affect local stock levels.
Prerequisites
Perform a stocktake
In WMS you can start a new stocktake or continue with a stocktake that has been opened in Cin7 Core.
Go to Main menu → Stocktake to see a list of active stocktakes. Active stocktakes can also be searched by stocktake #. Open an existing stocktake or click New to start a new stocktake.
-
Select to stocktake the entire warehouse, or whether to filter by bins (if available at the selected location), brands, categories, zones, stock locators, or product tags.
IMPORTANT: Filters define the list of products that will be in the stocktake, they do not function as additional location filters. For example, filtering by Bin 121 will look up the products in the selected bin (e.g. A, B, and C) and then perform the stocktake for all instances of products A, B, and C at the selected location.
If products A, B, or C appear in multiple bins, all instances of those products in the stocktake location will be included in the stocktake, not only the products found in Bin 121.
-
Enter the Bin if applicable.
Leaving the Bin field blank will leave stock unassociated with a bin this location, if permitted by your WMS settings. This field will not be visible if the location has no bin.
Scan an item or manually enter the Item #, then tap Enter on your keypad. The Item details screen will be displayed. The on hand quantity of all units of this SKU at the location (not bin) will be displayed here.
Scan/enter the Item # and tap Enter on your keypad. You can count the rest of the stocktake items by repeating this step. Alternatively, you can manually adjust the item quantity using the QTY button if permitted by your WMS settings.
Once you have counted all the items, tap Finish to complete the stocktake. If the stocktake quantity differs from the on hand quantity, you will be asked to confirm this value.
Additional units of measure and stocktake
The additional units of measure (AUOM) function allows more than one unit of measure to be specified for a product or service, e.g. bottles or cases.
When you scan a barcode during WMS stocktake, Cin7 Core will check if the bin already contains an AUOM SKU related to the scanned SKU (e.g. case rather than single unit). If the bin contains an AUOM SKU, the stocktake will count in units of the SKU that is already in the bin. If the bin does not contain an AUOM SKU, you will be able to select which unit of measure is used to perform the stocktake.
