WMS settings
Before everything else, you need to configure the Cin7 Core WMS application from within Cin7 Core itself. It is not possible to access WMS settings from the WMS application.
Prerequisites
WMS setting descriptions
You will need to go to Integrations → Cin7 Core WMS in Cin7 Core. When opening this page, you will see a number of settings which can be adjusted for your application:
Setting | Description |
Always scan bin numbers | Disabled by default. When enabled, this users must enter the bin numbers when picking. When disabled, bin number is an optional field. |
Allow manual quantity entry | Enabled by default. When enabled, users can manually adjust quantities picked, packed, and more. When disabled, each item must be scanned or the SKU entered manually to select the item. |
Expense account | Expense account used for write-off operations created through Cin7 Core WMS. |
In-transit account | An asset account to hold the stock value of goods while in transit state during stock transfers. |
Sale order picking scheduled |
Choose to pick from all authorized orders (All) or scheduled orders only (Scheduled). When set to Scheduled, enables Number of orders per pick. See Scheduling sale order picking for more information on this feature. Note: This setting set to scheduled does not mean that the pick process is automated through WMS app. And the setup status will have no impact on the pack and ship process in terms of if they are set to manual or automatic. |
Number of orders per pick |
This is enabled if Sale order picking scheduled is set to Scheduled. This field sets the number of orders that must be processed in one round of picking. Must be an integer value greater than 0. See Scheduling sale order picking for more information on this feature.
|
Use tote # | When enabled, users must enter a tote # during pick. When disabled, no tote # is requested. |
Sale order packing | Manual sale packing is manually authorized through Cin7 Core or WMS. When set to Automatic, authorizing pick for an order automatically authorizes pack. This setting does not affect shipping. |
Sale order shipping |
There are three options for sale order shipping:
|
Print package details | When enabled, printing package details will be mandatory after packing a box in WMS. This prints an informational document (not a shipping label) showing the box contents, sale order details, and customer details. |
Time tracking for | Enable time tracking for picking, packing, or picking and packing. Time tracking will be started automatically whenever a user presses Start on an operation and completed when user finishes an operation. Time tracking can be suspended and restarted. Sale order packing must be set to Manual. See Time tracking. |
Enforce single picker per sale |
Select whether each sale should be picked by one picker only or whether multiple pickers can pick the same order. See Configure single picker or multiple pickers per sale for more information on this feature. |
Use picking for kitting |
For some products, multiple items should be assembled into kits to be sold as one whole, e.g. gift boxes. Assembly of these products is simple enough to be done on the fly during a pick if no assembled items are available. When this setting is enabled, WMS users can pick components and then complete the assembly during the picking process, see picking for kitting for more information. Assembly orders created from this process are carried out automatically by the system, and components, labor and overhead costs, and wastage quantities cannot be edited. This is an Advanced WMS feature. |
