Email sending limits

Email sending limits

Cin7 Core limits how many recipients you can include on an email and how many emails your account can send within a given time period. These limits apply to emails you send manually and to automated emails such as workflow actions and scheduled reports. System emails (password resets, two-factor authentication codes, and account verification) aren't affected by these limits.

Prerequisites

Recipient limits

Each email you send from Cin7 Core has a maximum number of recipients. This limit counts the combined total of all addresses in the To, CC, and BCC fields. It applies to both manual and automated emails.

Account type Maximum recipients per email
Trial 5
Paid 20

Cin7 Core won't send emails if they exceed the recipient limit. Cin7 Core records all failed attempts in the Email log with the Restricted status.

If you have a Global BCC email address, it counts towards the recipient limit.

Rate limits

Cin7 Core limits how many emails your account can send per minute, per hour, and per day. Emails you send manually from the UI (invoices, purchase orders, POS receipts) are subject to all three limits. Workflow automations, bulk email actions, and scheduled reports are subject to the daily limit only.

Limit Trial Paid
Emails per minute 5 500
Emails per hour 100 2,000
Emails per day 500 10,000

When you upgrade from a trial to a paid account, your limits update automatically.

Cin7 Core won't send emails if they exceed the rate limit. Cin7 Core records all failed attempts in the Email log with the Restricted status.

Email log

The Email log records every email attempt, whether Cin7 Core sent it, blocked it due to a limit, or it failed.

To access the Email log:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Select Audit.
  3. Select Email log.

Each entry shows the date and time, email type, sender, recipients (To, CC, BCC), subject, and status (Sent, Restricted, or Failed). Restricted indicates that Cin7 Core didn't send the email because of rate or recipient limits.

You can filter the Email log by date, email type, sender, or status. You can also search the report.
