Connecting Cin7 Core and Xero
Connect Cin7 Core with Xero to integrate your inventory management with your accounting system. If you are already using Xero, the Connect Wizard lets you quickly and easily connect to Cin7 Core.
Prerequisites
Base currency in Xero and Cin7 Core must be the same
Connecting Cin7 Core and Xero
If you do not have a Cin7 Core account yet, you need to sign up before you can connect Cin7 Core to your Xero account.
There are two ways to connect to Xero when creating a Cin7 Core account:
Sign up for a Cin7 Core using your previously-created Xero account.
Sign up for Cin7 Core, then select Xero as your accounting system when setting up your Cin7 Core dashboard.
Sign up for Cin7 Core with an existing Xero account
You can sign up for a Cin7 Core account using your Xero account. Using this method, you can use your Xero account credentials to sign on to Cin7 Core.
On the Cin7 Core website, register for a new account.
On the sign-up screen, enter information about your business.
Select Xero when asked to connect your accounting system. This triggers an activation email fromCin7 Core.
Click the activation email link. This redirects you to Cin7 Core to choose a password.

Select whether to delete or keep the demo data.
If you choose not to delete the demo data, follow the Xero Connect Wizard steps.
If you delete the demo data, enter your Xero login credentials to allow access for Cin7 Core.
Go to the Cin7 Core account registration page.
Click the Sign in with Xero button.
Click Allow Access.
Confirm your registration by clicking the link in the email from Cin7 Core.
You will be taken to the Xero Connect Wizard to set up your Cin7 Core account. You may need to set up required accounts to complete the wizard.
Enter the opening balances from your Xero accounts into Cin7 Core – see Manage opening balances for more information.
Continue to set up your products, suppliers, and customers. Refer to the Getting Started Guide for more help getting set up.
Connect an existing Cin7 Core organization to Xero
Connect an existing Cin7 Core organization using the Xero Connect Wizard. You can choose to keep or discard existing data.
Log on to your Cin7 Core account.
Select Integrations from the main menu, then Xero.
Click Connect to start the Xero Connect Wizard. You may need to set up required accounts to complete the wizard.
Complete the Connect Wizard steps.
Using the Xero Connect Wizard
The Xero Connect Wizard provides easy-to-follow steps for connecting Xero with Cin7 Core and switching to another organization.
Connect to Xero
Select Integrations from the main menu, then Xero.
Click Connect or Reconnect to enable Xero integration.

Select if you want to keep your data in Cin7 Core.
WelcomeIf you have trial data you want to remove, select No. You can then choose:-
Delete all data fromCin7 Core
This will delete all information including products, customers, suppliers, transactions, and opening balances.

Delete all transactional data fromCin7 Core
This will delete sales, purchases, transfers, production orders, and other transactions. You can optionally decide to delete customers, suppliers, products, and opening balances. This will not delete Reference book data.

Click Continue. If you are not already logged into Xero, you will be redirected to log in to Xero. You will then be redirected back to Cin7 Core.
Click Allow Access to let Cin7 Core access your data.
Now you have connected your Xero account. Next, you need to import and map your data.
Mapping
After you have connected Xero in the Xero Connect Wizard, Cin7 Core will map your Xero accounts, tax rates, and payment terms. You need to review these mappings and add any missing mapping.
Choose a Xero account for each Cin7 Core account. Each Cin7 Core account must be mapped to a unique Xero account. The wizard will try to match accounts with the same settings (e.g. both are asset accounts).
If you don't have a matching Xero account, you can use + to add a new account or create a new account in Xero. Show the new account in the Xero Connect Wizard by selecting Reload accounts from Xero.
If there are accounts in Cin7 Core you want to remove from this page, you will need to archive them, then Delete unused archive accounts. If an account has been used for a transaction, supplier, or customer before, it cannot be deleted or removed from this page.
Select Continue.

Choose the equivalent Xero tax rate for each Cin7 Core tax rule. The wizard will match if the tax rate is the same amount as the tax rule (e.g. 10%) and the sale or purchase properties are equal.
If you don't have a matching Xero tax rate, you can create it in Xero. Show the new tax rate in the Xero Connect Wizard by selecting Reload tax rules from Xero.
Click Next.
Type I would like to update all transactions into the text field, then click Confirm to connect Cin7 Corewith Xero. Data migration is non-reversible.
Your Cin7 Core account will be locked during the migration to all users, including you as the master user.
You'll receive an email when migration is finished instructing you to export historical data, and any migration errors that occurred.
More account mapping
Finish mapping the required and optional accounts in Cin7 Core to enable all Core's functionality.
Create any missing accounts in Xero if you haven't already and synchronize your data.
Select Settings from the main menu, then Reference books.
Open Account mapping.

Select the equivalent accounts from the list.
Cin7 Core can only map accounts between systems if they have the same settings. If you are missing an account, create a new account in Xero then reload the page to continue mapping.
Save your changes.
Connecting to another Xero organization
If you decide to connect Cin7 Core to a different Xero organization, you will be walked through the Xero Connect Wizard to finish account and tax mapping. This is essentially the same process as connecting to Xero for the first time.
Select Integrations from the main menu, then Xero.
Go to Connect your Cin7 Core account to another Xero organization.
Click Change organization to go to the Xero Connect Wizard again.
Disable Xero
Remove the integration between Cin7 Core and Xero permanently.
Select Integrations from the main menu, then Xero.
Go to Disable Xero integration on your Cin7 Core account.
Click Disable integration.
Cin7 Core won't connect to Xero after initial connection
After connecting, you may find that you are unable to load accounts and tax rules from Xero as Load from Xero does not appear. This error can happen when someone closes the Xero Connect Wizard before completing all of the steps. If you try to connect to Xero again, you won't be able to select your Cin7 Core organization.
Solve this issue by disconnecting your Cin7 Core organization from Xero, then running the Xero Connect Wizard again.
