WMS Bin Transfer - Limited to a single source bin at a time.
Issue
- When doing Bin Transfers, we can only transfer stock from a SINGLE source bin, at a time.
- We were previously not effected by this, as none of our stock had ‘Bin’ location data (the bin data were all blank)
- As we have transitioned products into a lot of different bin locations, this created a new problem when it comes to transferring stock from ‘flow’ bin locations (as an example FBxxx) to ‘pick’ bin locations (as an example ABxxx)
Example
- Orders finished for the day
- We now need to replenish our "pick" bins with stock, so that we are prepared for the next day of orders.
- We need to transfer some of the 'flow' stock from the flow bin locations, and into our 'pick' bins locations.
- Example list of products needing to be transferred FROM (source)
- SKU001 ➝ Flow Bin - FB001
- SKU002 ➝ Flow Bin - FB002
- SKU003 ➝ Flow Bin - FB003
- SKU004 ➝ Flow Bin - FB004
- SKU005 ➝ Flow Bin - FB005
- SKU006 ➝ Flow Bin - FB006
We are currently unable to transfer all the items above, in a single go / at a single time, because the WMS only lets us select a single source bin at the very first step (root cause of the issue)
Currently we are having to;
- Go Downstairs
- Open WMS > Receive > Bin Transfer > Scan "FB001" as the 'source' bin.
- Screen States Picking > We scan SKU001 > We scan the quantities and click finish
- Screen Returns with the List of Items Picked > Click Start
- Run Upstairs
- Screen States Put Away > We scan SKU001 > Scan New Bin Location (AB210) > We scan the quantities and click finish
- Screen Returns with the List of Items Put Away > Click Finish
- Go back downstairs and repeat another 5 times for the other SKUs.
We need the ability to transfer all of the items at once, where the WMS would allow us to choose multiple source bins.
Otherwise this task is very inefficient when completing replenishment of our pick bins, as we're having to run up and down stairs, one SKU at a time, when it should be done in one swift go.
Suggstions;
a) Introduce a replenishment task on the WMS which I've made a feature request previously (here), which needs to cater for the above
b) Modify the Bin Transfer process on the WMS accordingly, to cater for the above.
c) Do both

Hey Chris. I just saw your post while looking for something else. After you pick from the first bin, click Next and you should be able to pick from another bin. You will only move to the Put Away stage once you click Start.
Tthe wording of action buttons throughout the system can be misleading, and this is a great example. But I think what you're trying to achieve is already possible.

Your right, using next does exactly what we need, as you've mentioned.
I had asked support and they didn't mention it to us.
