Cin7 Core WMS Write-Off

Cin7 Core WMS Write-Off

Writing off inventory involves removing the cost of no-value inventory items from the accounting records, for example when the stock is lost, stolen, damaged, given away, or used internally.

A write-off task updates the total number of items in your inventory and adjusts your accounts accordingly, transferring the value of written-off stock to an expense account.

Write-off stock directly from the Cin7 Core WMS application.

Prerequisites

.

Create a new write-off

Create a new write-off task to write off stock from your inventory.

  1. Go to Main menu → Write-off.

  2. Click New.

  3. Select an effective date for the task, then click Continue.

  4. At this point, Cin7 Core will assign a task number to the write-off. Enter the item number or scan the product's UPC code, then press the search icon. You can only write-off stock that is available at the current working area.

  5. Enter the bin number or scan the bin if applicable, enter or scan the item number. You may need to press Enter. Adjust the quantity of items to write off,  then click Done to save the item and go back to Search.

  6. Add as many items to the write-off as you want. Then, click Finish.

  7. Click Yes on the confirmation message. The system will then create the write-off task and set its status to Completed and remove it from the write-off list. You will not be able to view or edit the write-off after it is completed.

Non-inventory products are not available for write-off.

Void or undo write-off

WMS does not allow void or undo of write-offs from the application. Completed write-off tasks can be viewed and undone from Cin7 Core. See Inventory write-off for more information.
