Exchanges not syncing to Cin7 Core from Shopify
- Exchanges are linked to the original sale, not new orders.
- Returned items are credited and restocked in Cin7.
- New items taken in exchange are not recorded automatically in Cin7.
- Manual creation of a new sale in Cin7 is required.
- Payment adjustments and refunds related to exchanges need manual handling.
- This process increases manual work and impacts stock accuracy.
This customer needs to sync the exchanges automatically to Cin7 Core from Shopify.

Hi everyone,
there is a duplicate community post here: Shopify Exchanges - STOCK WILL BE INCORRECT – Cin7 Core
The Shopify Exchanges project is in the works and our we are currently aiming for mid August for an early access version. Please let me know if you are interested to participate in our Early access program.
In our new implementation, Shopify Exchanges will be visible against the original order but there is a separate Exchange sale that is created for the Exchanged item.
Also struggling with this, the current Shopify integration actually makes things very complicated. If it doesn't fully work it would be better if it didn't sync at all, why add this feature if it only half works?
We built a system to flag orders where original SKUs do not match the end result. This tells us what orders we can void and reimport.
I would be interested in early access. Can you tell me though, if the order is captured at time of sale, how will this impact us? Will the later exchange update the original sales record? Right now our pain point is that any new item taken is not imported. Is this part of the main update?
