Smart reorder
Smart reorder provides replenishment suggestions to optimize your inventory and stock levels.
These suggestions can help you:
Keep optimal stock levels, avoiding overstocking or stockouts.
Have your top-performing products in stock and available to your customers.
Free up warehouse space and save the cost of storing products that aren't selling.
Save time and streamline your purchasing by creating purchase orders in bulk.
Prerequisites
This is a Cin7 ForesightAI tool and requires an add-on to your subscription.
ForesightAI requires at least 6 months of sales history in Cin7 Core.
Products must have a Supplier. Smart reorder will not provide suggestions for products without a supplier.
Open Smart reorder
Use Smart reorder to see which of your items should be purchased from suppliers, transferred from other locations, or assembled from components to meet forecasted customer demand.
In Cin7 Core, select Purchase → Smart reorder in the menu.
Smart reorder can show suggested replenishment quantities for:
- Purchase: Create purchase orders with suggested product quantities from one or more suppliers.
Transfer: Move products between different locations in your organization to balance your stock levels across stores.
Assembly: Assemble items together to meet your sales demand forecast.
You can also choose the Period or location(s) that Smart Reorder should plan replenishment for.
View suggestions
When you open Smart Reorder, you will see today's purchase order suggestions. You can view all of the suggested SKUs, their recommended Reorder Quantity, and ForesightAI insights.
ForesightAI provides recommendations that are optimized for your inventory management. While we do not recommend changing these proposed quantities, you can manually adjust the Reorder quantity. Before adjusting the quantity, you should review the Product insights, Totals, Product status, and the Product segments to make an informed decision.
Totals
Smart reorder provides a total for its suggestions and sub-totals for your Winner, Chasers, and Losers. This helps you plan your budget and target your replenishment accordingly.
The totals and sub-totals depend on your Reorder type.
| Reorder type | Total calculation |
|---|---|
| Purchase | All suggested purchase order costs. |
| Transfer | Number of all suggested SKUs to transfer. |
| Assembly | Number of all suggested SKUs to assemble. |
Product status
You can quickly identify the trends affecting your products with the Product Status column.
Winners are your most profitable products and should always be in stock.
Out of stock or low stock items which need to be reordered to meet your sales forecast.
Rising stars are trending products with increased customer demand and should also be ordered.
Product segment
Track your Winners, Chasers, and Losers in Smart Reorder in the Product segment column. This lets you prioritize your Winner products first.
Use the Product segment filter to review suggestions for only your Winner products (or review any Chaser or Loser suggestions). This filter will also affect your Totals.
Past sales
You can review your historical sales for each SKU when deciding on the appropriate replenishment with Smart Reorder. The Past sales column shows the amount sold (for each SKU) during your chosen period. You can change this time period in the Past sale period to show the sales quantity in the last 30, 90, 180, or 365 days.
Product insights
There are even more ForesightAI insights available when you expand a suggestion.
You can review the upcoming sales demand for the next 6 months with the Sales forecast graph and key replenishment factors.

The maximum amount of time this SKU can stay in your warehouse, for example 14 days for milk.
You can refine or set these options in the ForesightAI settings.
